'Hey.'

'Working a case?'

'Something like that.'

'Huh.' Pause. 'I got word that you wanted to see me. You got any news on the shapeshifter tech?'

'Uh, no - I just wanted to check in with you. See how you're handling everything. I know you've been going through the case files, getting up to speed. I understand that it can be ... kind of overwhelming. It's hard. What you knew, or what you thought you knew about the world no longer holds. And I just wanted you to know that I'm here.'

'You're ... here?'

'Yeah. To talk to. I mean, just - if things are getting a little too much, or you're getting freaked out.'

'I'm - not freaked out.'

[Olivia nods.] 'Good. Okay. Well, you just let me know -'

'- if I freak out. Yeah.' [slightly awkward] 'You'll be the first to know.'

[The phone rings. Both look almost ... relieved.]

Lincoln Lee ends up between the 24-hr diner back home and here most nights after work.

It's been days now since he last slept, but he doesn't seem too bothered by that fact.

It makes sense, after all: it's hard to adjust when you've lost your tether, you've just moved to a new city, and came to realize that most of the things you thought were true ... well, aren't.

(Including a place like this.)

One might find Lincoln Lee, dressed casually (in blue plaid and dark trousers) sitting at the Bar with a closed manila folder and an empty mug in front of him.

"Uh - a refill, please," he says to Bar.

A moment later, his request is obliged.

(He's still getting used to that.)
